Connect ARS

CygNet Directory Sync

CygNetDirectorySync.exe

The CygNet Directory Sync utility (CygNetDirectorySync.exe) compares file versions and replaces files based on selected criteria, such as file version, extension, etc. This utility does not compare file sets. As such, use the Microsoft Ccommand Comp utility to compare file lists. (Type Comp /? at a - Command Prompt for more information.) Unlike the CygNet Version Info utility, the CygNet Directory Sync utility does install CygNet files. For most update situations, such as installing patches or new upgrades, use the CygNet Host Updater instead.

CygNet Host Manager

CHostMgr.exe

The CygNet Host Manager utility (CHostMgr.exe) is the primary CygNet utility for managing services and domains on a host server. The utility controls the Remote Service Manager (RSM) service for each domain(s), identifies redundant RSMs running on multiple domains, and each RSM respectively starts and stops all of the services listed in its database, including the Address Resolution Service (ARS).

CygNet Host Updater

CHostUpdater.exe

The CygNet Host Updater utility (CHostUpdater.exe) can be used to install new software components and patches on a host server. Service files and utilities are copied from a source file system to the appropriate directories and registered if necessary. Client files are copied to an Update folder and then uploaded to the APPS directory. The new files are distributed to clients as part of the normal version management process to ensure you are running the most up-to-date version of the file.

CygNet Message Sniffer Lite

SnifferLite.exe

The CygNet Message Sniffer Lite utility (SnifferLite.exe) is a diagnostic tool that captures and evaluates all CygNet message traffic occurring on a CygNet client or host. Sniffer Lite is designed to help the CygNet administrator understand what messaging is occurring between CygNet clients and services in order to diagnose problems and improve performance.

CygNet Service Migration

SvcMigration.exe

The CygNet Service Migration utility (SvcMigration.exe) is a database service transformation tool. It enables CygNet to make database service-wide updates on a version-by-version basis. Usually, the update options displayed by the CygNet Service Migration Utility are required; affected services will not operate correctly if the changes are not made. However, once you have made changes for a version on a given service, those changes do not need to be made again for that service. The list of available updates changes from CygNet version to version.

CygNet Version Info

CVersionInfo.exe

The CygNet Version Info utility (CVersionInfo) displays and exports file names and versions to a text file. The utility can keep track of files with extensions .exe, .ocx, .dll, or all the files in a main directory. The utility does not update any files, but can be used to register a file. You can run the utility whether or not the CygNet system is running.

Thread Timer

ThreadTimer.exe

The Thread Timer utility (ThreadTimer.exe) is a command-line utility that provides thread statistics for executables.
